I need new spirit guidance to come to me from many different sources before I’ll go with it. I prefer to have strong confirmation that I’m on the right track!
Synchronicity, signs, symbols, numbers, patterns and information are all ways for spirit guides to communicate with us in our world. Synchronicity is a great way to describe these occurrences. Synchronicity was first explained as a concept by psychiatrist Carl Jung, as early as the 1920’s. Jung maintained that events are “meaningful coincidences” if they occur with no causal relationship, yet seem to be meaningfully related.
I believe there’s no such thing as coincidence or chance. So when a coincidence occurs in my life I know it’s really synchronicity. I know there’s more going on than meets the eye so I pay attention and observe to try to understand what my Spirit Guides are trying to tell me.
Synchronicity occurs when your inner and outer worlds align. I believe everything is interconnected; we live in a web of life that creates ease and flow for all those living in oneness. Everything is energy.
When you experience synchronicity in your life it is validation and confirmation you are on the right path. Everything feels like it’s unfolding without conscious effort on your part. You may feel like you’re held in the hand of universe/Source/God who is actively assisting you.
Synchronicity in my Life
When I met my future husband, I knew. It had not felt significant – I was on my way home to New Zealand to a new life. I wasn’t looking for a Tasmanian! I knew something was going on when where ever my girlfriend and I went, there was this guy coming in the opposite direction. We’re strolling around the point, he’s walking towards us. We’re going into the movies, he’s coming out.
The Universe was compelling and determined for us to meet and get to know each other. I had no choice but to respond to the call.
It became ridiculous and an obvious nudge from the universe so I invited him for dinner. We had spent a few days together in the Byron Bay area, enjoying a swim at Protester Falls and a game of pool at the Great Northern Hotel.
We exchanged email addresses and corresponded for a year until I moved to Melbourne, Australia. Within 4 days we knew this was it. I just knew. He felt so familiar. Being with him was like putting on a much-loved jumper that was missed. I remember describing the feeling as if I was on a train that was rushing full tilt towards a destination. I had absolutely no control. All I could do was sit down, get comfortable and strap myself in for the ride!
I moved in with him in Tasmania 2 months later and we were married a year later in 2001. Unbeknownst to me, his family took one look at the photos he had taken way back when we first met – on the trip to Protester Falls – and predicted: “You’ll marry that girl”!! So basically, his family knew years before I did!
Spirit Guides love to be creative
Your Spirit Guides will use creative and imaginative ways to contact you, to give you nudges in the right direction and give you confirmation when you’re on the right track.
Your Spirit Guides want to speak volumes and so they tend to use methods that push you beyond the surface meaning. They love to surprise with imaginative signs and symbols that make us pause and consider in order to unravel the full meaning.
Your Spirit Guides will only teach one step at a time. We receive this information in the form of repetitive thoughts, feelings, visions or words, depending upon your spiritual orientation.
Sometimes spirit guidance is subtle and easily missed if you aren’t paying attention but when it really matters, it’s repetitive and obvious – they don’t want you to miss it! Your Spirit Guides have your highest and best good in kind so if it’s important they will not rest until you have understood the message.
I’ve been known to stop in my tracks to witness birds flying in formation overhead over and over again, the same information coming to me through different sources: radio, TV and snippets of other people’s conversations!! It’s all meaningful and insightful within the context of what’s going on for you at the time.
Learn to see your life in broad strokes with a level of detachment so you can read your life as symbols without labeling experiences. Seeing in symbols without attaching or labeling an emotional response or judgement (that was bad, that was good) enables you to reclaim your energy with aspects of yourself buried beneath layers of judgment and criticism. This leads to emotional, spiritual and physical healing. This allows you to redefine your expectations, dropping control over your future and surrendering to the adventure that is life!

I have had a couple of very strong synchronicity experiences very recently. while I have experienced synchronicity before the recent ones have been extremely relevant. This leads me to surmise that my intuitive skills are growing sharper and I wonder if there is anything I should be doing to keep this going or just relax and let it happen whenever it does.
I have been seeing the number 33 everywhere all the time lately, many times I look at the clock on my phone or computer there’s 33 e.g, 9.33, 2.33, 3.33, etc. Then it appears on my battery power 33%, not once, twice, now. Then I was watching a movie and a man’s wife gets in an accident, he looks at the time, it’s 1.33. I try to ignore it but it keeps coming at me, for e.g, I lose my internet connection, so I need to check my wifi gadget to see it’s still on, I do so only to see the battery 33% and then realize after that the internet connection is back, nothing really happened. It’s just the number 33
Since I was 13 I’ve had what I called a curse. I dreamed of my aunty whom to my knowledge was alive and well. She was on the beach in a white flowing dress and was holing a baby she look so happy. I found this strange as she lived in the bush and only ever wore jeans and only had 2 adult children. I awoke telling my mother of my strange dream. Later in the morning my mother came screatching at me saying I dont know how but you did this. She’s dead, get out of my house. Days later mother called me and asked when I spoke to my aunt last. It had been two months ago when we all visited her on the farm. I was then told she was going to marry the man she was with and was 6 weeks pregant. I knew she said goodbye to me but my mum stayed tense around me.
I then tried to interfere with my uncle’s job, trying to stop him from going to work. I had seen him in an accident in a cement truck. I thought he died as I saw something fly through the front window and the truck was at the bottom of the range. Again my mum spoke to his wife about it and they brushed it off as a stupid teen. He did have that accident a week later and a pipe had come through the front of the cememt truck pinning his leg to the truck. Then it rolled to the bottom of the range. Thankfully he sustained a leg and knee injury only and I never lost him. As before I had to leave the family.
I have written all of my life experiences down but mostly keep them to myself. I feel the earth and some events before they occur. I receive warnings which help me in my life path. I have stayed within myself for this journey mostly afraid of what may come if I try to advance as I see enough hurt already. But it did save my life twice.
Dear Debra, I’ve read your blog. I was attracted seeing the caption”synchronicity”. It occurs in my life since 2012. First I noticed nomber 4.44 occurs repeatedly. Afterwards 5.55 came .Then 3.33 . Last one year I seeing 11.11 and 2.22. lately 12.34 occurs. Could you explain all the meaning?

I am new to spirit guides. Are they the sane as demons or familiar spirits?
I have this thing where I read words and hear somebody say them at the same time. They are usually odd words rather than common ones. Things like pigeon, earplugs, etc. Whenever I mention this to people, they mostly don’t know what I’m talking about. Perhaps I’m just distracted and can’t switch my ears off when reading!
Also I tend to get confirmations via media (tv, radio) for really unusual things I started to think about out of the blue in the preceding 24 hours.
I see repeated number patterns all through the day. Feathers appear in my way too. I feel comforted and assured when I see them. I consider the spirits from the divine realm are reaching out to me.
One of my best friends recently passed away right before my birthday. As my birthday approached I realized I would never receive another birthday phone call or birthday card from her. For the next couple of days until my birthday every time I worked at a clock or cell phone the number is on it would be at the date of my birthday. I thought that was my friend trying to tell me happy birthday from the spirit world.

Hi Constance, thank you so much for sharing your story. This is what I would describe as a premonition. I’ve written a guest article on premonitions so if you do a search you might find it. Yes I hear you. Receiving premonitions put you in a very difficult position – especially when your family find it so upsetting. I hope with time you can see it as a gift and a blessing rather than a curse. It isn’t offered to many so I have to believe there’s a purpose behind why you’ve received this gift. Hi Kwesi, I’m not sure of what you believe a demon or a familiar is to compare. Everyone experiences Spirit differently, through the lens of culture and religion overlying personal experience. They are frameworks, semantics for a universal experience. There are plenty of articles explaining Spirit Guides in detail here on Anna’s website and I have loads of free resources on my website too. Read and compare and see whether these are just different words for the same thing. Much love to you.

Hi Elizabeth, what you describe might be an overactive mind (or ego) that’s repeating randomly. Or it could be the beginnings of clairaudience. Clairaudience is the ability to hear Spirit – either as a voice whispering in your ear or as a still small voice in your head. Experiment! Best way to work it out is to start asking questions and accept the first response that comes to mind. If it’s just your ego there’s a longer pause or it will just mimicked you. Thanks so much for responding. I checked out what number 33 stands for and it’s just like you said. So many amazing things are happening to push me so high up in my career and human relations as well. I believe in spirit guides, that we have a team of spirits or Angels working to help us. If they decide to communicate to me through the number 33, that’s so cool. I see it even on the threadmill, all the time. Love to you.
In 1998 I was thinking that I’d love to get a touring choral job for the summer. I had completely forgotten about that when a friend called and told me that they needed a baritone for a tour of Porgy and Bess in Austria. I had a day to prepare for the audition; and on Thursday I left home late and freaking out. I suddenly thought to myself, I’m going to get this gig; I just have to get there; and I calmed down. I arrived a bit late; and was asked to sit in on the rehearsal (reading and singing along) and then audition afterwards. I was hired on the spot; and had to meet with the agent the following day for a flight that was leaving the following Monday (4 days after the audition), for a 9 week tour. That gave me the weekend to cover my job (I was a manager) during my absence.
In 2003 I was singing with the Oratorio Society of NY; and the conductor announced that he would be taking 60 of the 200 members to Costa Rica to perform, with airfare and hotel expenses subsidized. Anyone not selected could join at a discounted rate. As I left the rehearsal I thought to myself, I don’t know if I want to go to Costa Rica; however, I feel certain that I will be able to go if I want to (I had no logical reason to think I would be selected). The next day I walked into my office and the secretary was searching the internet to find a flag of her home country . . . Costa Rica. I logged onto my computer and opened up Yahoo and the travel site of the day was . . . Costa Rica. On Jeopardy that night there was a Costa Rica category. The next day I awaited a friend of mine in Starbucks and on the table where I was seated, in a circle were different varieties of coffee. My eyes focused in on Costa Rica. I thought to myself, I guess I’m going to Costa Rica. I did; and it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever traveled to.
The next year the conductor announced an identical situation for a trip to Mexico; and I had a similar series of synchronicities. I figured out much more quickly that I was going to be selected for that tour.

I have had many synchronicities happen throughout my life. Things always seem to somehow, no matter how great or small work out in my life. I have won a grocery gift card when I had no money for groceries. I was driving on a busy 2 lane highway and heard a voice say slow down, I slowed looking for a reason and as I rounded the bend there was a semi coming straight at me in my lane. I was going slow enough to pull off the road, but had I been going regular speed I may have been hit head on. When things like this happen I mostly feel gratitude, it brings me to tears that I am watched out for and taken care of in this way. But I would miss much of these opportunities and forms of help were I not “listening” or paying attention.

I always see 11, 111 or 1111 everywhere i look! I’ve read that it can be your spirit guides getting your attention, a hello from the spirit world, etc.
My guides know how I love music so they offer words of support and encouragement through songs whenever they can. In fact, that’s what just happened to me as I was typing this message. So, I was typing and I felt like I wanted to listen to the song Firework. I have never paid attention to the lyrics before because I’m not a fan of the original version by Katy Perry. But I listened to a metal cover version by Exit Eden. And this time I did pay attention to the lyrics and sure I’m glad I did.

I do believe in synchronicities.
One curiosity popped up in my mind when reading your text: In the part of the world where I live, there is an increased awareness of technological filter bubbles which even more reinforce the present energy and interests we project into the world. So if you think along certain lines, the internet will keep feeding that back to you, reinforcing your perceived reality, no matter if it is fear, hate, love, care or an interest for a hotel in Paris. I’m wondering if there might be a risk to mistake some of these for synchronicities simply because confirmation feels so good, when really these are not our guides but simply internet algorhythms? It’s obvious when Google keeps showing us the same lawn mover for weeks that we once looked at, but it can get blurry when Facebook suggests just one more “group that might interest you”.
This can be useful at times, but it is certainly different from your guides nudging us to *shift* focus (which is what I guess they tend to do, while synchronicities reinforcing what we already do/believe might come either from our reticular activating system or from people skilled in steering our attention).
Hi Anja, thank you so much for offering this up for discussion. Yes the internet algorithms certainly reinforce interests and will activate more of the same coming at you. I wonder whether the difference between a synchronistic piece of guidance popping up on your Facebook feed vs. a suggestion from search engines is the feeling that comes with it. How does it make you feel? If i feel a surge in energy, also sensations, then I can feel that hand of my Spirit Guides involved. I don’t get that from random events. It’s also the case with other synchronicities- birds flying past I gave no intuitive response (other than pleasure as I really love bird watching) but then others birds will pass on a specific formation and it feel rare and exciting. Love to hear other thoughts.
